New York City is going to start giving girls as young as 13 years old the morning after pill since free condoms aren't working and there are many teenage pregnancies and abortions. The girls can get these pills without parental consent. Thankfully, there is a way for parents to opt out of the program altogether but NYC parents seem fine with the whole idea.
These girls can get a pill that can have dire consequences without their parents knowing but they can't get a Tylenol or aspirin. Something seems very wrong with this picture to me. Have parents given up? Don't they care about the mental, emotional, and physical health of their precious daughters?
There is no easy answer to this. As society gets more and more sexualized and families are falling apart, our children are going to become more and more damaged as they try and fill the void left by not having a solid support system such as a warm and loving family.
Girls will give into the next cutest guy to get the love and affection they are craving or they will just be following the examples they see on television, movies, and in songs.
It's a battle out there, parents, for the soul of your children. Train them in the wonderful ways of God from a very early age. Tell them that their worth comes from a powerful Creator who loves them unconditionally and has a wonderful plan for their life. Don't let this society eat them alive and then spit them out broken and ashamed.
